Dogsly - Photograph, Love, and Share Your Dog Pics

Ok, if you know me then you're likely well aware that there's 3 things that I'm really into... these are mobile technology, photography, and dogs, specifically, my best friends Zoe and Nash! Over the years I've likely photographed them hundreds of times and shared their pics widely. Well now, thanks to the cool Dogsly app I have an Instagram-like service that enables me to snap a photo, add an effect, geotag the location, add a description, and share via social media (like Twitter and others).
Dogsly is available for iOS - I use it on the iPad2 and is a very awesome way to catalog and preserve your pooch pics while on the go... kudos to the developer for a great idea on this one! See Dogsly.com or search "dogsly" in the iTunes store.

We all love to capture and share photos, however, what else can you do with all that fabulous media that's gathering dust and taking up space on your storage drive? Well, sure you can create a custom card, maybe slap your photo on a calendar or mug (yawn) but now, thanks to some of the awesome tools and APIs out there there's some really cool, custom services that you can take advantage of. Mobile Photog Tip - GPS Tag your Flickr Photos

Here's a tip for Flickr users who want to share their GPS information with their photos... note, in order to do this you'll need to be capturing photos using a GPS-enabled or GPS-aware camera (see you're smartphone hardware settings to ensure that GPS or location sharing is turned "ON". You'll notice that photos on Flickr can optionally be Geo-Tagged, this will enable you to view the photos on a map or access all your streams Geo Tagged photos from the GeoRSS feed (Flickr provides this to all users - see the very bottom of your Flickr page for a link to it). You can actually view all your stream's GeoTagged photos on Google maps by copy/pasting the GeoRSS feed url into Google maps or Google Earth!

To auto Geo Tag your Flickr phot uploads you'll need to enable this functionality in your Flickr account settings. When logged into Flickr, see  your Account Settings / Privacy & Permissions, and set the "Import EXIF location data" to YES - by default it is set to NO. Once you do so you should be able to see your Geo Tagged photo uploads on the map that is provided. See my Flickr Stream HERE
