The Victoria area beaches, particularly on the Saanich Peninsula, are pretty amazing most of the year, however, there's something special about the time August 15 - until about Sept 30 time frame! The sunsets, behind us and to the west, are typically quite dramatic and the low, setting sun provides for some really awesome evenings on the beach. If you can, try to catch a moonrise during this period as the moon rises over Washington State, the photo opps are terrific!
