For those of you who frequent this blog, catch my tweets via @yyjpics and catch updates from me on other social media streams, no doubt you know I have a “thing” for mobile technology and mobile photography – ya I’m a bit of a gadget junkie! Well, starting this week you’ll likely notice me boasting about the Android OS and the Samsung Galaxy S II (4G) smartphone. That’s because I’ve been provided with an opportunity via Virgin Mobile (Canada) and Samsung to take part as a social tester of their latest smartphone. As a result you may find periodic Android OS related updates here over the next few weeks – I hope you find them of interest!
If you’ve been monitoring updates on the social news outlets recently you may have seen that there’s plenty of hype about several new devices: the Nokia N9, the iPhone 4S, and the Samsung Galaxy S II. All are large-screen, touch enabled devices sporting speedy processors, killer cameras, GPS, and loads of functionality. I’ll be rocking the Samsung device for about 6 weeks, providing comments, observations, tips, and snippets of relevant info during that time and look forward to sharing the experience. Of note, I’ve been a long-time tester of many Nokia (Symbian) devices over the years, been an iPhone user for over 2 years now, and have rocked a few Androids over the years as well, although not as my main device since the Google G1 came out (I used that one on T-Mobile USA for a few months).
